Relationship between training and employee performance in organizations in Kenya
Abstract
This project paper sought to find out the relationship between training and
employee performance in organizations in Kenya: case study of the College of
Biological and Physical Sciences-University of Nairobi. It sought to find out how
training enhances performance.
Chapter one of this study deals with the background, statement of the problem,
purpose of the study, objectives, research questions, theoretical framework,
significance of the study, delimitations and limitations of the study. In chapter
two, a review of related literature is given. Chapter three talks about the
methodology used in collecting data, target population which was the low and
middle level managers of the college of Biological and Physical Sciences.
Questionnaires were -used to collect data. Chapter four is an analysis and
interpretation of data which was done using descriptive statistics. In chapter five
the conclusion and recommendations of the study are given.
The results of the study show that a relationship exists between training and
employee performance in organizations even though other factors enhance
performance too. In order for organizations to have a competitive advantage
over other organizations they are in competition with, there is need for them to
invest in their human resources who perform to bring about tangible results. For
future research, a study should be carried out to deter-mine if there is any t: relationship between motivation and employee performance•in organizations.
