dc.description.abstract | This study aims to analyze determinants of utilization of maternal health care services among women of reproductive age in Kenya. This study will use data form KDHS 2008-09 which was implemented by KNBS in partnership with other local and international organizations. Descriptive methods of analysis as well as multivariate logistic regression method of analysis were used to determine the significance of independent variables on utilisation of maternal health services in Kenya. Utilisation of maternal health services was measured by the use of skilled or un-skilled assistants during delivery and the uptake of postnatal care services. The data analysis shows that the most important factors in determining utilisation of maternal health services included the highest level of education, birth order, living conditions of the mother and type of place or residence. | en_US |
