The selection of the correct pesticides, dosage rates, treatment intervals, precautions, use and use limitations is of paramount importance. In Kenya the Pest Control Products Board ensures that registered pesticides are properly handled to avoid hazards to people, animals, crops and the environment. This paper highlights the problems encountered in the implementation of the pest control products regulations with respect to horticultural production in Kenya.
