In microscopic agglutination tests on serum samples from 434 goats and 322 sheep from 9 areas [date not given], 55 goats (12.6%) and 84 sheep (26.08%) were positive for leptospiral antibodies. The highest positive prevalence was observed in animals from Olkalau (92%) followed by those from Kitui (48.97%) and Gilgil (38.5%). Serovars hardjo, autumnalis and sejroe predominated with prevalences of 86.33, 10.9 and 8.63% respectively.
