The paper discuss the role of mass media during the 2007 post-election violence in Kenya. The paper argues that while few media houses were responsible, the majority were irresponsible. However, it is not what they did during the conflict that matter but what they published before and during the 2007 election campaigns. Most studies by KNCHR, KHRC, CIPEV and IREC indict media for their unprofessional behavior that inflammed ethnic animosity that burst open immediately after the announcement of the disputed election results.en
