Quantitative and qualitative methods of data analysis were used to arrive at the reported findings. Purposive sampling technique was used to sample institutions and tourists for study. Data was compiled using descriptive statistics and presented in form of tables, frequency distributions, pie charts and percentages The study adopted a descriptive research design on the cultural attractions in Nairobi city as a case study with the tourist being the unit of analysis. Questionnaires and interview guides were used to collect the primary data which was then coded to allow content analysis and presented in accordance to the order of the specific objectives. The study established that cultural facilities are indeed consumed in the city despite lack of an elaborate policy framework on urban tourism. The study also established that majority of the urban cultural tourist facility consumers were the local residents rather foreigners.en_US
