dc.description.abstractThis study is an attempt to investigate the extent to which the private sector of the economy has contributed towards the financing infrastructure of primary education in Central Division of Garissa district. The contribution and infrastructure development was identified and analyzed. The research focused on the impact of financial and material contribution by the private sector and in tum evaluates the successful trends of its implementation with a view to examine the challenges experienced by the donors and the beneficiary institutions. The sample population comprised of Education Officers, Private sector officers, Head Teachers of primary schools and Senior teachers. The questionnaires were developed to guide the data collection with presentation and analysis. The research technique used was questionnaires, personal interviews and reviewing the related literature. The researcher visited schools and administered interview to head teachers, Education officers and officers working with the private sector and administered questionnaires to Senior teachers. The responses were analyzed and summarized to guide the study. ~ Conclusion drawn from the findings indicated that the private sector contributes greatly to funding the primary education infrastructure development. This removed the burden of financing primary school from the parents and in tum, the government and donors support the provision of infrastructure and facility to the schools The funds administrators need training of procurement guideline of the ministry of education and record keeping and TSC to recruit more teachers to cub understaffing. The private sector ought to diversify support to public primary schools to provide quality education. The research can be put in replication to allow both the investigation of other levels of education and selection of other specific areasen_US
