dc.description.abstractSociety development is a great concern of many institutions in the world today. Churches and faith based organizations have made concerted efforts towards answering both spiritual and physical needs of people in society in different parts of the world. Many religious organizations have infiltrated the African continent and set up projects geared towards improving people's livelihood in the local society. This study was formulated to establish the influence of education projects initiated by church of God in development of society in Keumbu Division of Kisii Central District. The researcher applied a descriptive survey research design. The target population for the study constituted of 746 respondents who constituted of staff members from the three educational institutions and parents of the learners in the three educational institutions. Stratified, purposive and simple random sampling techniques were applied to select a sample of 224 respondents which form 30% of the population. The research instrument used was a self administered questionnaire and the data collected was analyzed using the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) version 17 and the findings presented as descriptive statistics in tables and graphs. The findings of the research showed that the church of God education projects have had a _ positive impact on society in empowering people economically, improving the environment and promoting social cohesion. Recommendations were made to the church to partner with other stakeholder to enhance further development.en_US
