We develop a matrix model for a harvesting policy that maximizes the harvest of a population without altering its age structure. The model is subsequently applied in harvesting a fish, Tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus population primarily to maximize the stock production. The MATLAB software is employed to generate a stable population structure, which is then subjected to 2 harvesting strategies from amongst which optimality is thus established.
