This study was based on management of higher education institutions. Chapter one defines higher education institutions and differentiates them from other business organizations and gives the research questions and objectives of the study so as to establish how technology, organization culture, funding and the community influences the management effectiveness of higher education institutions, the case of Chuka University College. C.U.C was chosen for study because the institution is undergoing infrastructural and expansion developments. The study sought to establish how the above factors are influencing the management effectiveness, of the rapidly growing C.U.C. Literature review highlighted the systems theory, as the theoretical framework of the study, profile of higher education in Kenya, guiding principles of higher institutions and administration of higher institutions. In addition funding of higher institutions, community, technology and organizational culture as factors that influence management effectiveness are discussed. The study used a descriptive survey as research design. Questionnaires were used to collect data from the respondents. Data was analysed and the results were that, funds were not readily available, technology was not in use in management, community influenced management positively and that organizational culture was not well established hence was a hindrance to effective management of C.U.C. The data was analysed and the results presented in tables. The conclusions from the findings were that C.U.C has a website but is never utilized fully in management that C.U.C is trying to establish its own organizational culture different from that of Egerton University, that the community is in full support of the management, and that funding from the government is not enough for running the institution. Recommendations of the study given in the chapter include retraining of employees in technological skills, maximum use of the website, delegation of duties and holding of many meetings between the employees and C.U.C.en_US
