This paper analyses the various stakeholders involved in promoting the utilization of indigenous vegetables in Western
Kenya and classifies them into stakeholder organizations depending on how they related with the farmers. It aims at
determining the kinds of stakeholders organizations involved in in-situ conservation of indigenous vegetables, the
different kinds of strategies employed to enhance conservation and the driving factor leading to the emergence of
these different strategies. The paper concludes by outlining several policy implications for promoting on-farm
conservation of indigenous vegetables in the case study areas.
