dc.description.abstractTrends in land use practices in the Lake Nakuru catchment area and, in particular, the causes and impacts of deforestation, which threaten the lake's unique ecology. It addresses the importance of natural forests for the successful management of the lake's watershed area. Findings are all discussed in the broader, national context and some suggestions for programmes of action to alleviate problems caused by deforestation are presented.en
