The multidimensional or multifaceted treatment of strategic planning is believed to be effective way of planning as opposed to unidimensional planning. The seven facets/characteristics of planning practices include: internal orientation, external orientation, creativity in planning, use of techniques, control focus, functional integration and key personnel involvement.
