Emergence or Virtual Organizations in Kenya
Abstract
Abstract
Different organizations conform to one type or other of virtual organization. The
level of conformance varies from one organization to the other (Kurtakko J. et al).
This paper assumes one type termed as "virtual operation" (which is defined in
the paper) and proceeds to analyze the level of conformance.
The goal of this research is to examine how business entities in Kenya have
adopted to the virtual organization model. This is done through analysis of 30
organizations selected randomly in Nairobi, the business capital. It looks at the
level of degree of "virtual-ness" (level of conformance), the drivers for moving
towards being virtual, the constraints faced by different organizations in their
attempts to embrace this model and also the impact of taking this approach.
