Exponential Survival Functions
Abstract
We are going to look at some stochastic models for the analysis of Survival Data. These models assume a constant force of mortality, for each individual, and
have two states: 1 iving and dead. The transitions
between states are irreversible.
In Chapter 1 we are going to give some definitions of the functions that we are going to use and also the numerical methods of estimation of the unknown parameters that we are going to use.
In Chapter 2 and 3 we give the expressions that can be used in the estimations, for the censored and uncensored data, for two mod~ls (Additive and Multi plicative) that were proposed by Ze1en and Feig1 (1965) and Glasser (1967).
In Chapter 4 we look at t~e methods, non-parametric, that can be used to verify that the data that we have assumed to be exponential is actually so.
Lastly in Chapter 5 we give the summary of all the other chapters and give proof of the cases when explicit solutions don't exist for the models, when we have dichotomous covariates.
