The study sought to establish the relationship between job satisfaction of teachers in technical training institutes in Nairobi and employees' gender, age and rank. A survey design was used. The population was 305 tutors from three (3) technical institutions in Nairobi. From the population, sample size of 50% was selected from each of the schools using stratified sampling method. The strata were the schools. Thus, the sample size was; 153 respondents. Information on the extent of job satisfaction of teachers was collected using primary data. The questionnaires had both open and closed ended. The questionnaires were administered using drop and pick method. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics such as mean scores and percentages. Standard deviations were also used to analyze the data and show the level of variability of responses. Chi-squares were also used to test the differences across gender, age, rank and tenure on job satisfaction levels. This analysis was aided by the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). The results were then presented in tables and charts. The study found that there were no statistical differences in teacher job satisfaction across gender, age, experience or rank. This is despite the fact that some groups within each of the categories show a trend towards being more satisfied than the others. These results are a sharp contrast to the scholars suggesting that there are differences in job satisfaction levels across various groups. It is recommended for the Ministry of Education, TSC and various institutions put up measures to enhance job satisfaction. This should be in terms salaries and job content. There is need to replicate this study to other sectors in order to establish whether the same results would hold for employees in other sectors of the economy especially in the manufacturing or banking sectors.en_US
