Talent Management Practices at Cfc Stanbic Bank

Abstract

Global Markets have become highly competitive, dynamic and uncertain hence making talent management of knowledge workers and high potentials increasingly of strategic importance. Talent management is important because organizations heavily depend on talent to achieve their objectives and to survive. The purpose of this study was therefore to examine the talent management practices at CFC Stanbic bank, one of the organizations competing for talent .The study adopted case study as its research design and it involved a population of 13 senior managers with a 100% response rate. It used primary data collected through an interview guide. The data colected from the interview guide was then analyzed using content analysis. The study found that CFC Stanbic bank has fully embraced talent management practices and each of the practices had an excellent foothold with the exception of perfomance management which was seen to be subjective and required to be strengthened to boost employee confidence and achieve desired results. In conclusion, the study has found out that CFC Stanbic bank has embraced talent management practices in their operations. There are clear policies on most of the practices studied with the exception of perfomance management. We therefore recomend that perfomance management be made more inclusive and objective to attain employee confidence and be aligned to best practice.
