The purpose of this research was to study Statistical Quality Control in confectionery industry. The study involved a detailed description on the various confections manufacturing processes and identifying the relevant characteristics of measure. The characteristics were then grouped into variables and attributes which formed the basis of constructing the various control charts. It was after this that the Variable control charts ( X and R) were constructed and the Attributes control charts (u, c, p, np) were also constructed. The link between the various probability distributions were then clearly established and it strongly came out that probability distribution inform the kind of control chart to be used.en
