Organizational Learning and Operational Performance in Commercial Banks in Kenya
Abstract
The aim of the study was to determine organizational learning and operational
performance in commercial banks in Kenya. The study was anchored on three specific
objectives which were to determine the scope of organizational learning concept in
Commercial banks in Kenya, to determine the impacts of organizational learning on
performance in the banking industry and also to determine factors that influence
organizational learning among commercial banks in Kenya. This study adopted
descriptive design and targeted a population of 43 commercial Banks operating in Kenya.
Statistical package of social scientist (SPSS) was used as an analysis tool. Also multiple
regression was used to determine the relationship between dependent and independent
variables. The analysis of the findings concluded that most respondents indicated that
systemic thinking affect organization operation performance to a great extent and it is
applied to a great extent. To whether team work and learning in the organization affect
the operation performance, the findings also concluded that it affects organization
operation performance to a great extent and also the extent team work and learning in the
organization and it is applied to a great extent. The study findings further concluded
collaborative leadership in the organization affects the operation performance a moderate
extent and it is applied to a less extent. Moreover, the findings of the study also
concluded that knowledge sharing in the organization affects the operation performance
of banks to a great extent and it is applied to a moderate extent. The findings also
revealed that staff competencies development in the organization affect the operation
performance to a moderate extent and they were applied to a less extent.
