| dc.description.abstract | Project management is a growing subject in the modern organization calling for the evolution of
this managerial role. This new role is supposed to be pivotal in planning and controlling complex
project landscapes more effectively and more efficiently, in implementing project portfolio
management practices as a management innovation, and in coping with traditional conflicts
between line and project managers in matrix organizations. This study investigates the influence
of management on successful project completion with key emphasis on four variables that is:
Identification, Planning, Implementation, and project monitoring. The study adopted a
descriptive research design approach as this method provided descriptions of the variables in
order to answer the research questions in the study. The study targeted the management of
constitution and reform education consortium a non-governmental organization involved in
project implementation through its members. The study used a questionnaire to data while
descriptive statistics and content analysis were used to analyze data collected. Data was
presented in the form of tables for interpretation. The findings of the study were management
commitment in terms of resources and time is essential in enhancing project success.
Communication is also essential for successful project implementation and should occur at all
levels in the organization. Likewise communication should be a two way process in order to
ensure effective communication is realized during project implementation. The study
recommends the need to enhance the level of management skills in the organization as this will
help in strategy implementation thus enhancing the performance. Managerial skills promote
