dc.description.abstractProf. Eunice W. Mutitu has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Council of Kenya Education Management Institute (KEMI) for a period of three years with effect from August 1, 2013. This appointment was contained in a Special Issue of The Kenya Gazette of September 18, 2013, Notice No. 13082. Prof. Mutitu is the Director of the Board of Postgraduate Studies and a Professor of Plant Pathology at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Nairobi. She has a wealth of experience having served in various capacities and boards including that of the National Coordinator of the Methyl Bromide Alternatives Project. KEMI is a semi-autonomous agency of the Ministry of Education that offers capacity building services to the education sector. The overall goal of KEMI is to promote good governance and management of education institutions through training, research and consultancy services. The Board of Postgraduate Studies, staff and University community congratulate Prof. Mututi on her appointment and wish her well as she discharges her new responsibility. The Board is proud of this recognition of one of their own by the Government. Prof. Mutitu joins other Board members serving the Government in various capacities including Prof. Charles Okidi who is the Chairman of Council at Karatina University.en_US
