dc.description.abstractProf. George Magoha has been appointed President of the Association of Medical Councils of Africa. He was elected during the Association’s conference on Management of Medical Litigation in Kigali, Rwanda over the weekend. While accepting the appointment, Prof. Magoha pledged to incorporate the North African countries who are not members of the Association. He said that he will also work on increasing information exchange on regulatory framework as well as reciprocal recognition for medical practitioners and doctors trained in Africa. Prof. Magoha who is the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nairobi (UoN) is also the Chairman of the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board. He has previously served the continent as the Chairman of the Association of African Universities (AAU) a post he held between 2010 and April 2013. He is a Professor of surgery and has published widely in peer reviewed publicationsen_US
