dc.description.abstractThe new council is chaired Dr. Idle Omar Farah and comprises four other members namely, Dr. Betty Gikonyo, Mr. Joseph Tui Hamisi, Prof. Judi Wakhungu and Mr. Kitili Mbathi. The Council appointed by the Ministry for Higher Education, Science and Technology will be in office for the next four years. Dr. Farah is the Chief Executive Officer of the National Museums of Kenya. While inaugurating the team, the Chancellor, Dr. Joseph Wanjui congratulated the members on their new appointment as members of UoN Council. He pointed out that the members are a rich mix of professionals from different fields with wide experience gained from their careers. Dr. Wanjui added that the two variables would be an asset in working and moving the development of the University to the next level. He challenged Council members to improve on the gains of the previous team which was led by Dr. John Simba. On wishing the new team well, Prof. George Magoha, Vice Chancellor, UoN, urged the council to remain focused and play its role for the development of the University in order to achieve its mandate. UoN Deputy Vice Chancellors, Prof. Peter Mbithi, Administration and Finance, Prof. Jacob Kaimenyi, Academic Affairs, Prof. Isaac Mbeche, Student Affairs and Prof. Lucy Irungu, Research, Production and Extension are among those who witnessed the inauguration. Also present was Dr. Salome Gachura, from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology and Dr. Manu Chandaria. The University wishes the new Council success in discharging its dutiesen_US
