Eimeria leuckartien_US
Two of 8 donkeys (which died or were killed in the study of Trypanosoma congolense infection) had oocyst developmental stages of Eimeria leuckarti in intestinal sections. Macrogametocytes measuring 62.0 by 44.2 µm and microgametocytes measuring 69.6 by 55.7 µm were found, mostly in hypertrophic host cells in the lamina propria. Oocysts were occasionally observed at villi tips. The parasitized tips had a club-shaped appearance but no inflammatory reaction could be seen in the infected areasen_US
