A soluble antigenic extract of Brucella melitensis strain 16 M was assessed for reactivity in complement fixation and indirect haemagglutination tests in six experimentally infected goats. Tanned, glutaraldehyde-fixed sheep red blood cells absorbed antigen to higher titre than either fresh or tanned sheep cells. The antigen reacted well in the complement fixation test, although to low titre.en_US
