Dielectric thin films of TiO2 have found many applications in various areas such as antireflective coatings, optical filters and photocatalysis among others. Optimization of material combinations and. coating conditions of multilayer thin films for large scale production has been a challenge in the field of material science particularly in the fabrication of band pass with single and multi-notch optical filters for fluorescence and Raman spectroscopy applications among others. This paper reports on the modeling of Optical properties of TiO2 based multilayer thin films for a maximum of 5 layers for optical filter applications. An optical filter serve 3s-a light window with bandwidth determined by upper and lower cutoff frequencies Using Matlab code, optical properties of TiO2 based multilayer thin films were modeled using optical data from both experimental and literature. The work shows that with varying combinations of thickness, dielectric materials and number of thin layers. an optical filter and pass with single and multi-nortch-optica l filters call be achieveden_US
