Grain yield, three yield components and grain nitrogen and moisture contents were investigated in a diallel cross, without reciprocals, involving four two-rowed and three six-rowed varieties. Grain yield/plant and ears/plant were positively correlated in both ear-row types. In the two-rowed parents, ears/plant and grains/ear contributed significantly to grain yield. Negative correlations were observed between grain yield and grain N content, and between grain weight and grain moisture content.en_US
