Successful tissue culture procedures have been established for rapid in vitro multiplication of pyrethrum. Multiple shoot formation through axillary bud proliferation was induced in shoot tip cultures on Murashige & Skoog's (MS) medium containing 6-benzylaminopurine (BA). The multiple shoots when transferred to a fresh medium, produced a new crop of multiple shoots and this cycle was repeatable. Individual shoots were excised and induced to root and these plantlets were then transferred to pots and grown in the green-house and eventually have been grown successfully under field conditions.en_US
