A programmable logic controller is an electronic device that is used to automate any type of processes. They are widely used in industrial and domestic applications. In the project, the device will be used to control two generators that supply power to a building. The two generators are rated 400KV A and 600KV A, the supply to the building will be chronological and changes with time. The PLC therefore is to be programmed to monitor the power consumed at the load center and activate a suitable generator. As mentioned earlier, the generator have different rating and one is to supply the load at a different time unless if the load demanded is more that what the current generator can carry then a second generator has to be started and run in synchronism to supply the load. In this project, the PLC has been programmed to sense this situations and try to balance the load at all times, such that no generator is overloaded. Comparators have been used extensively as they determine the sequence of starting the generators and also the load on the system. The analog input module is set to follow the primary current and the scaling function (FC105) is programmed to follow the dynamic current though the connection is from the secondary of the current transformer.en_US
