dc.description.abstractThis is a case study of the Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE). The study investigates the challenges the NSE is facing in implementing its demutualization strategy. The objective of the study was to determine the challenges the Stock Exchange is facing in implementing the demutualization strategy. The researcher got information on the study by interviewing the top management at the Stock Exchange. As this is a case study, the presentations of the findings are in a qualitative form. From the findings, NSE faces challenges of an institutional nature which include structural challenges, leadership challenges, cultural challenges and policies, procedures and support systems. Similarly, information was obtained on operational challenges being faced by the institution and this included tactical and operational challenges, employee involvement and communication of responsibility and accountability was identified as a challenge as well.en
