dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to determine the impact of Internet of Things on people working in Nairobi Central Business District. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design. The study used primary data which was collected through administration of structured questionnaires to the sampled respondents. The data collected using the questionnaires was analyzed by descriptive statistic. The study found that people working within Nairobi CBD were aware of connected devices. In addition, the study found that the commonly used connected devices are smart phones, laptops, automated teller machines (ATMs) and credit cards. This was mainly because these devices make it easy to do daily office tasks and more. The study also found that professional requirements and passion for technology were the main drivers why people use connected devices. Improving money transfer, improving vehicle tracking, improving surveillance and improving the working conditions were the main impacts of using connected devices and systems. The study found that expensive implementation and cost of acquiring connected systems and devices as the common challenges. The study recommends that people working in Nairobi CBD should embrace Internet of Things for it has benefits in day to day activities.en_US
