dc.description.abstractTraining in the most simplistic definition, is an activity that changes people‟s behavior. Increased productivity is often said to be the most important reason for training. Perception is the proces s by which organisms interpret and organize sensation to produce a meaningful experience of the world. Effectiveness is the measure of performance of the trainees against some expected level of performance. The International secondary schools in Kenya are private, coeducational day schools, which offer an education program for students of all nationalities . The study was guided by Human Capital theory that is based on the assumption that formal education is highly is highly instrumental and necessary to imp rove the productive capacity of a population. The research employed cross sectional survey design that involves the collection of information from any given sample of the population element once. The population of study comprised 672 teachers in 13 interna tional secondary schools in Nairobi County, Kenya. The study used a sample of 67 respondents drawn from the randomly selected international secondary schools. The response rate was 88.06% for all the respondents . The study found out that majority of the re spondents agreed to great extent that several training programmes have been organized for us teachers. The study also found out that majority of the respondents agreed to great extent that training needs analysis wa s conducted prior to organizing for the t raining programmes . The study concluded that training programmes had been organized for teachers in the international secondary schools. The study also concluded that training programmes improved the ability of teachers in teaching. The study recommended t hat that training programmes should be organized for teachers to improve on effectiveness. The study also recommended that training programmes should be regularly done to add passion to the teachersen_US
