This project analyses the strategies adopted by small-scale enterprises focusing
specifically on the exhibition stalls within the central business district of Nairobi. This
study was specifically carried out on the exhibition stalls in the study. The objective of
the study was to establish the strategies adopted by small-scale entrepreneurs.
The study sought to investigate the strategies that the exhibitions stalls had formulated in
order to survive the competition in the industry. In this study, primary data was collected
using questionnaire method. A descriptive design was used in this study. A total number
of 180 exhibition stalls were involved in the study. The researcher used a simple random
sampling to identify exhibition stalls owners that would respond to the questionnaires.
The result of the study showed that there was strong competition in the exhibition stalls
in the country and that the owners had taken strategic measures to respond to the
challenges they face. Such strategies include being low cost leaders, customer service and
product differentiation.
