dc.description.abstractAlcohol abuse is where one engages in irresponsible drinking and drinks at the expense of his or her health, family responsibilities and/ or of discharging his or her duties. Alcohol abuse is linked to many harmful consequences for the individual and society as a whole and for others in the drinkers' environment. Alcohol abuse is prevalent among HIV infected individuals, and is associated with adverse health effects. This study seeks to determine the impact of alcohol abuse on the quality of life of the residents of kibera slum which is perceived to be the largest slum in Nairobi County with many challenges including alcohol abuse and its effects on their physical, psychological and social wellbeing. The main objective of this study s to determine the impact of alcohol abuse on quality of life of the residents of Kibera slum and haw it affects their physical, psychological and social wellbeing.en_US
