dc.description.abstractThis study is an analysis of the factors that influence levels of self esteem among University of Nairobi Students college of Humanities and social sciences in the department of psychology. The main purpose of the study is to show that there are different factors that are key in determining students self esteem. The sample of this study consisted of students in the department of psychology. The number of respondents was fifty, thirty one females and nineteen males greater percentage of the respondents appeared convinced that there are several factors that affect their self esteem. Media, pop culture, peers and parents, sexuality, weight, age and socio-economic status among others are some of the factors that influence self esteem of students positively or negatively.en_US
