The Silent Voices is a novella that attempts to see things from the p0int of view of the girl child. Many are the times that children are caught up in adult conflict. More often than not, they end up suffering more than those who cause the conflict themselves – the adults. They lose parents and loved ones. And after the adults sit at a table and come to an agreement they pretend that things are normal again. Little thought is given to the effects of the conflict on children and where that conflict leaves them. This novella is an attempt to study the effect of the so-called Post-Election Violence of 2007/2008 in Kenya from this perspective. How deep are the scars left on child victims of this conflict? How far have their problems been addressed and what does this portend for the future of Kenya? The Silent Voices tries to examine and give insight into these issues.en_US
