dc.description.abstractAbstract Disparities in performance have continued to be noticed as one of the many challenges facing education and had raised a lot of concern. The KCSE results had been poor in the recent years and as a result many students who went through public secondary schools in Usigu division could not compete favorably for national opportunities. This research aimed at investigating influences academic performance of students in public secondary schools, to establish the extent to which physical facilities as a component of institutional capacity influence academic performance of students in public secondary schools, The study was anchored on the theory of Educational Production Function and conceptual framework that showed the interrelatedness of various aspects of institutional capacity that influence academic performance in public secondary schools.
