About the Symposium
The symposium will entail sharing findings of a study conducted in 3 counties using an innovative research approach dubbed the Focused Ethnographic Study (FES) by the Principal Investigator Dr Faith Thuita. The study was commissioned by the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) in partnership with the division of nutrition, Ministry of health and implemented by researchers from the School of public health, University of Nairobi, Kenyatta University and Cornell University in the US. Findings of a complementary study, Optifood study will also be presented.
Reports of the FES study will be launched by the Executive director - Global Alliance for improved Nutrition Executive Director Mr Mack Van Amerigen and the board chairman Mr Jay Naidoo. The GAIN Kenya country director Mr Adan Kabelo and other program staff will be in attendance. The Principal, College of Health Sciences, Prof Isaac Kibwage and the Director, School of Public Health Dr Dismas Ongore will also be in attendance. Faculty members from the College of Health Sciences, students, members of the nutrition and public health community are invited.
