Royal Society-DFID Africa Capacity Building Initiative
Abstract
The Royal Society, in partnership with the Department for International Development (DFID), has just opened the second round of applications for Programme Grants as part of its Royal Society - DFID Africa Capacity Building Initiative. Applications will be invited in three priority areas:
- Water & Sanitation
- Renewable Energy
- Soil-related Research
The main purpose of this new programme is to assist in strengthening collaborations between scientists based in sub-Saharan Africa.
The level of support for Programme Grants: The awards will support research consortia of one UK lab and three African labs with up to just by March 19 2015.
The main challenge now is to ensure that the information is getting to researchers at relevant institutions across sub-Saharan Africa. Please could you disseminate the information amongst your contacts in sub-Saharan Africa. Attached are two flyers with basic information on this scheme, one of which is a shorter version in French.
