dc.description.abstractTheme: Past, Present and Future of Korean Studies 12th -13th December, 2014 Nairobi, KENYA The University of Nairobi, Kenya, will host an international conference on Korean Studies from 12th to 13th December, 2014. The conference will be a platform for interdisciplinary discussions covering academia and research in Korean studies, as well as administrative matters and experiences of Korean Studies Programmes around the world. The academic disciplines involved include Korean language, linguistics, literature, history, archeology, political science, administration, philosophy, religious studies and economics. The conference will bring together experts, scholars and administrators to consider some of the pressing issues facing Korean Studies in the modern university in an open forum. Apart from holding debate in our respective academic fields, we are seeking to better understand the development, proliferation and challenges of Korean Studies Programmes around the world, as well as to assess their impact and significance in the modern society. Papers presented will be considered for publication in a special issue of one of the University of Nairobi journals. We look forward to seeing you and your colleagues to exchange ideas and experiences in the exciting environment of Nairobi in December 2014. Abstract Submission Authors should submit an original abstract of not more than 300 words in English by email to koreanstudies@uonbi.ac.ke and audreyaduol@gmail.com. Abstracts should be typed using 12pt Times New Roman Font in Word Format and should be single spaced.
