Returning of nomination papers

SONU Electoral Commission
All prospective candidates vying for positions in the SONU election, 2014, as well as students and staff are advised to note the following concerning the return of nomination papers:
1. Duly completed and signed nomination forms and Code of Conduct shall be returned to student and staff Commissioners at the following venues on
27th and 28th March 2014 from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.:
CAMPUS - RETURNING VENUE
Medical School Campus (CHS) - SMU Conference Hall
Kenya Science Campus - Old Common Room (OCR)Uhuru Hall
Chiromo Campus - SPS Board Room
Kikuyu Campus - TV Room next to Kimberley
Main Campus, CAE - ADD, Ground floor
Lower Kabete Campus - Deputy Principal’s Boardroom Old
Administration Block
Upper Kabete Campus - Veterinary Pathology Building
Main Campus (CHSS) - SONU Office
Parklands Campus - SMU Manager Office, Parklands
Kisumu Campus - Administrator's Office
Mombasa Campus - Co-ordinator's Office
2. Electoral Commissioners are required to verify that the following are attached to nomination papers and the Code of Conduct:
a. Names and registration numbers of the requisite proposers and seconders.
b.Where there is a running mate ensure that his/her name and student registration number is indicated on the form of the candidate vying for the post of Chairman/Chairperson.
c. A certificate of good conduct from the office of the Dean of Students and a certificate of good academic record from the office of the relevant Faculty, School or Institute.
d. A valid receipt showing payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs.
3,250/= for Executive positions or Ksh.1,000/= for Congress positions.
3. Electoral Commissioners are also required to verify that prospective candidates produce copies of valid student identity cards.
PUBLICATION OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES
The names of successfully nominated candidates shall be published by the
Electoral Commission on
31st March 2014 by 12 noon
COMMENCEMENT OF CAMPAIGNS
Duly nominated candidates shall commence official campaigns on Thursday 3rd April 2014 at 12.00 noon.
Candidates and their agents and supporters are required to use only
MASKING TAPES in erecting of banners and posters on walls and notice boards
