Evaluation of feeds - some results from the study of the nutritive value of Kenyan grasses and fodder crops.
Abstract
CP and DCP contents, DM intake and OM digestibility of 3 regrowth stages of Kikuyu grass, Rhodes grass, Cynodon dactylon, Setaria sphacelata, Napier grass and Desmodium uncinatum and sweet potato vines, each at the flowering stage, are presented. Nutritive value of the pasture grasses was generally lower than that of Napier grass, D. uncinatum or sweet potato vines.
