Actinomyces pyogenes mastitis.
Abstract
Seasonal incidence, antibiotic sensitivity and associated bacteria were studied for 50 cases of A. pyogenes mastitis during 1983-89. No seasonal pattern was observed. Resistance to sulfonamide and nitrofuran was observed, but the bacteria were highly sensitive to other antibodies. Mixed infection (Streptococcus, Staphylococcus and Escherichia coli) was observed in 14% of samples.
