dc.description.abstractEight calves fed fresh leaves or roots of the plant in the daily ration died within four days and ten sheep drenched daily with 15 or 30 g of the ground leaves died within five days. The toxic symptoms included salivation, muscular spasms, rapid, shallow respiration, coughing, and bloodstained diarrhoea. P.M. lesions included trachea filled with froth, haemorrhage and oedema of the lungs, and haemorrhagic gastro-enteritis.-MGG.en_US
