| dc.description.abstract | Eight calves fed fresh leaves or roots of the plant in the daily ration died within four days and ten sheep drenched daily with 15 or 30 g of the ground leaves died within five days. The toxic symptoms included salivation, muscular spasms, rapid, shallow respiration, coughing, and bloodstained diarrhoea.
