The life cycle of Fasciola gigantica Cobbold, 1856. II. Redial generations
Abstract
Experimental infection of Lymnaea natalensis with Fasciola gigantica miracidia revealed the absence of a sporocyst in the life-cycle and the presence of 4 generations of rediae and 2 of cercariae. The first generation of cercariae occurs with the 4th of rediae in rediae of the 3rd generation, and the 2nd cercarial generation occurs in 4th-generation rediae.
