The objectives of this study were to determine green supply chain management practices adopted by the textile industry in Kenya, and to establish the challenges in implementation of green supply chain management practices encountered by the textile industry in Kenya. The population of interest was 142 registered textile firms operating in Kenya. The respondents involved in this survey were managers of various garment manufacturing firms in Nairobi area. Coilected data was captured and analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics where, percentages, means and standard deviations were used. For easy understanding and interpretation hence drawing conclusion on findings, tables, graphs and charts were used. Findings of the study reveal that majority of registered textile firms operating in Kenya are medium in size with a number of employees between 21-50.The studies also showed that-the textile industry in Kenya has adapted green supply chain management practices to a minimum extent. Largely adopted practices were established to be; designing of products for repair and support of regulation on green put forward by the government. Both internal and external challenges were sited as causes to hindered progress of green supply chain management practices implementation in the textile industry in Kenya. The major challenge being practice of green wash by the industry while the least challenge was determined to be the lack of support for green supply chain management practices from- the middle level managers. It has been recommended by the study that challenges have to be dealt with to be able to successfully implement green supply chain management practices.en_US
