dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to determine the role of the Audit committee in state corporations and assess the impact of this role in terms of ensuring good corporate governance practices and accountability. The study will centre in the case analysis of , KURA in selected operation areas in county headquarters. This study will be guided by the following research questions; (1.) What is the effect of training of the Audit Committee members in improving good corporate governance in KURA? (2.) How does the composition of the Audit Committee members improve good corporate governance in KURA? (3.) What is the effect of regular meetings on good corporate governance in KURA? The research methodology will use a descriptive case study focusing on Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA). The case study will be used in order to increase the likelihood of high quality data but not necessarily as an object of interest in its own right. A case study research excels at bringing us to an understanding of a complex issue or object and can extend experience or add strength to what is already known through previous research. The data and information will be collected using questionnaires. Data will be analyzed through descriptive statistics using Statistical Package for Social Scientists (SPSS) in order to give quantifiable statistics and results done with the help of Microsoft Office Excel programme and presented in pie charts, bar graphs and tables.en_US
