dc.description.abstract | This thesis evaluates the legislative, policy and institutional framework on housing in Kenya and the challenges and prospects it presents for the effective realization of the right for residents of slums and informal settlements. The study compares the statutory, policy and institutional approaches to securing the right in Kenya with those of Tanzania and South Africa with a view to borrowing best practices that can help enhance the realization of the right in Kenya particularly for those living in slums and informal settlements. This is then followed with some recommendations. | en_US |
