Abstract
Construction projects in Kenya are adversely plaqued with problems
of time and cost overruns, abandonments and falling quality
standards. These problems are traced to lack of effective planning
and control practices. A review of existing construction time
planning and control techniques is presented with a particular
emphasis on identification of aspects which could lead to poor
application. The significant factors for effective time planning
and control in the Kenyan construction industry's environment are
identified. A tentative model for improving the state of the art of
scheduling construction projects in Kenya is suggested.
