| dc.description.abstract | The increase in the number of in Kenya has seen many even the national assembly claim that this is to blame for the increased terrorist acts in the country. This research therefore seeks to qualify this statement. The study will be guided by the three objectives formulated which will help to find out if an influx of refugees has led to increased insecurity in Kenya, find out the link between refugees and terror activities as well as how best Kenya can deal with security threats posed by the influx of refugees. The research will further be guided by a conceptual framework on what national security is and threats to it, as well as a conceptual framework on refugees and the security threat they pose to their recipient country, in this case Kenya. The research instrument for data collection will be questionnaires and one on one interviews. The research design to be used in the study will be a qualitative analysis of information got from the ministries of Interior coordination and foreign affairs, as well as information got from refugees in residing in Nairobi and its environs. The findings from this research will be used by policy makers in understanding security threats posed by the influx of refugees in Kenya and how best to deal with the refugees situation without causing a diplomatic spat within the international circles. | en_US |
